At Leisa Payne School of Dance we take pride in offering elite dance training in a supportive, nurturing and family focused environment, where every dancer discovers their true potential.
Our goal is to provide a studio where dancers can grow, gain confidence and skills and be recognised for their hard work and dedication. We aim to build a community where each dancer feels like they belong.
We offer an extensive range of dance, acrobatics and vocal classes in a high quality space with custom sprung dance floors, full length mirrors and all the specialty equipment needed to help your child excel and keep your child safe.
OUR CLASSES
THE WIGGLES WORLD OF DANCE
The Wiggles World Dance is an enriching early childhood dance program designed to ignite a passion for movement in your little ones. Our focus is on providing a dynamic and educational experience, where music and movement intertwine and foster confident and connected children.

MODERN JAZZ
We offer classes in Pre Junior Jazz right through to the Jazz Teaching Diploma. Our Modern Jazz classes follow the Comdance syllabus with students encouraged to sit their exams and attend classes and workshops with interstate teachers and examiners.
Students also work on solo and group performances for competitions, bursaries and scholarships.
CONTEMPORARY
We offer classes from Foundation through to Level 6 Contemporary Teacher’s Certificate. Our classes follow the Comdance syllabus with students encouraged to sit their exams and attend classes and workshops with interstate teachers and examiners.
Students also work on solo and group performances for competitions, bursaries and scholarships.
ACROBATICS
All LP dancers are very lucky to develop their dance skills through acrobatics classes from Primary through to Level 9, following the Acrobatics Arts Syllabus. Students are encouraged to sit their Acrobatics Arts exams throughout the year.
AIR TRACK TUMBLING
Classes are also offered in Gymnsatics and Air Track Tumbling to further add to the dancer’s skills. This class is designed to help students develop strength, agility, and precision in their tumbling skills. Using an inflatable air track for added bounce and safety, students can practice a variety of flips, rolls and jumps. This class is perfect for dancers, acrobats and gymnasts looking to enhance their tumbling abilities in a fun and supportive environment, while building confidence and technique.
CLASSICAL BALLET
At LPSD we offer classical ballet classes from Pre-Primary through to Solo Seal, following the Royal Academy Of Dance Syllabus. Our students have many opportunities to attend classical ballet intensives throughout the year conducted by R.A.D examiners and tutors to perfect their work, before sitting their exams. Leisa Payne School of Dance guides students through elite training for competitions, bursaries and scholarships. Selected students are also encouraged to audition for programs with the Queensland Ballet and the Australian Ballet School.
We have a strong focus to perfect the classical ballet art form as it is the basis to all other styles. To maintain the high standard of Leisa Payne School of Dance dancers, all vocational classical ballet students must do Pilates/ conditioning classes to maintain and develop their strength and flexibility.
TAP
At Leisa Payne School of Dance we offer tap classes from Pre Junior right through to the Diploma in Tap Teaching. We follow the Comdance syllabus. Students are encouraged to complete their examinations. Our LP students are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to attend classes and workshops with interstate teachers and examiners throughout the year.
Students are guided through solo and group work for competitions, bursaries and scholarships.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Classes in Comdance Level 1 right through to the Musical Theatre Teaching Diploma are offered to LP dancers. Students are encouraged to complete their exams.
Classes in Junior, Intermediate and Senior Musical Theatre are also offered. Students work on musicals in these classes and are given numerous opportunities to perform their work in solo and group competitions and concerts.
HIP HOP
Classes in Junior, Intermediate and Senior Hip Hop are available to LP dancers. In these classes students focus on the hip hop technique and style. They will also have the opportunity to work on solo and group performances for competitions and concerts.
VOCAL COACHING
Classes in Junior, Intermediate and Senior private and group vocal coaching are available. Students work on performances for competitions and concerts.
Students also have the opportunity to sit their AMEB vocal examinations.
OUR NEW ELITE TRANSITION PROGRAM
EXTEND YOUR CHILDS ABILITIES
Our new Elite Transition Program has been designed to allow aspiring and committed young dancers aged 11 years and over to enrol in a half day specialised program where students are guided and nurtured through tailored coaching.
This program is ideal for dancers who are seeking a transitional pathway into full time training to further develop their technique and artistry in both classical ballet and contemporary.
